If you’re looking for the best Mansur Gavriel look alike bags, you’re in the right place!
Mansur Gavriel is a relatively new name when it comes to fashion brands – first seen in New York fashion week during 2012, the brand has recently been on many fashionista’s lips and of course, grazed the pages of Vogue.
The most well known design of the brand is its bucket bag, which actually doesn’t retail for an extortionate amount of money – you can get your hands on one for as little as $530! However, I noticed that quite a few of you had looked up ‘Mansur Gavriel’ in the search bar of this blog, so I decided it was about time that I did a post on Mansur Gavriel look alike bags.

These dupe bags are all made from different materials: the cheapest options start from around $15 and go all the way up to about $80. Sadly, the bags that I could find are all from either PU leather or vegan leather – it was hard to spot good look alikes that were made from real leather.
Out of these designs, my favourite ones are the black bucket bags with red fabric on the inside. I am not quite sure why, but whenever a bag is lined with red fabric, it instantly feels more luxurious. It might be because Louis Vuitton does this with their Neverfull bags, or because Louboutin paints the soles of their shoes red – whatever the case may be, red has certainly become a symbol of luxury.
The Rise Of Mansur Gavriel
The creative forces behind the brand are Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel – two 30-somethings that launched Mansur Gavriel very unassumingly of any fast success. At the time when Mansur Gavriel first came out with its best seller, the bucket bag, the girls didn’t even have an office. “We were just trying to keep up with demand,” Mansur described to W Magazine when interviewed about their success.
And the bags kept selling… and selling… and selling, until every store that stocked the bags had to produce a waiting list just to keep up with consumer demand. Even up to this date, the bags have retained a 100% sell-through rate in prestigious retail locations such as Barney’s and Bergdorf Goodman.
Fashion bloggers from around the world flocked to Mansur Gavriel’s designs, as they were characterised by very subtle luxury: you could tell that the bags were high quality, yet they were devoid of any logos or flashy branding, giving the accessories a clean, crisp, minimalistic look.
Although the bags are designed in New York, they are handmade in Italy to ensure that only the highest quality materials are used. The insides of the bag is tanned with vegetable oil, which helps to preserve the look of the bag even further and longer.
Personally speaking, if you can afford to spend a couple of hundred dollars on a bag, Mansur Gavriel is absolutely worth it. In addition to looking at dupes of the product, you should have a look at Saks Fifth Avenue to see their whole bag collection.
For people who are just getting into designer bags, this brand is the perfect place to start: the bucket bag has already been in style for 6 years and held its value throughout. The bags also have an impeccable, luxury feel to them due to the material that is used, so they would be the perfect addition to anyone who is looking for a good quality every day day without having to spend thousands on high-end luxury goods.
